Failure to follow the procedures exactly as written may result in serious injury or death.

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the 42V harness connector X2 at the APM.

2. Ignition OFF and scan tool disconnected, open and close the driver door, and wait 1 minute. Test for less than 3 ohms between the ground

circuit terminal 1 X2 of the APM and ground.

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the APM ground circuits for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the APM.

3. Ignition OFF, connect a DMM between the 42V+ circuit terminal 2 X2 of the APM and ground.

4. Ignition ON, command the APM Intermediate Voltage Control ON with a scan tool. Test for 37.5-60 volts between the 42V+ circuit terminal

2 X2 terminal and ground. Command the APM Intermediate Voltage Control OFF after completing this test.

瀚慖f not within the specified range, replace the APM.

5. Ignition OFF, verify that the 42V harness connector X2 is connected under the PSCM.

瀚慖f the connector is not connected, connect the connector.

6. If all circuits test normal, replace the PSCM.

Low Voltage When Turning

1. Inspect the steering system for mechanical binding. The steering should have a heavy feel, if the power steering is disabled, but should not

bind.

瀚慖f there is any mechanical binding in the steering system, refer to Steering Effort Hard in One or Both Directions (Standard) (See:

Steering and Suspension/Steering/Testing and Inspection/Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures/Steering Effort Hard in One or Both

Directions (Standard))Steering Effort Hard in One or Both Directions (HP2) ().

2. If all circuits test normal, replace the power steering motor.

DTC Descriptors

DTC C0896 03

- Device Voltage Range Below Threshold

DTC C0896 07

- Device Voltage Range Above Threshold

Circuit/System Description

The transfer case shift control module (TCCM) monitors the battery voltage feed to the TCCM. This DTC detects if the battery voltage is out of

range. This could indicate a vehicle wide issue in which all electrical components would be affected, or it could be TCCM specific due to poor

power or ground connections.

Failure to follow the procedures exactly as written may result in serious injury or death.

Important: Removal of the HV manual disconnect lever also opens the HVIC source circuit between X350 and BECM connector X1.

锟斤拷If the circuit tests normal, perform the High Voltage Disabling () procedure and test the HVIC Source circuit for an open between X350

and BECM connector X1. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BECM.

P1AE3 with or without P1B05 and P1B06

Important: DTCs P1B05 and P1B06 should always pass and fail together. If one DTC has passed while one has failed, replace the

drive motor generator power inverter control module (PIM).

1. Ignition OFF, wait 2 minutes.

Important: The drive motor generator control module sight shield must be installed during all testing in order to complete the HVIC

current loop.

2. Disconnect PIM connector X1.

3. Ignition ON, observe the BECM HVIC Source Current parameter. The parameter should display less than 5 mA.

锟斤拷If the HVIC Source Current parameter indicates current between 5-18 mA test the HVIC Source circuit for a short to ground between

PIM connector X1 and X350.

Danger: Always perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure prior to servicing any High Voltage component or connection. Personal

Protection Equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.

The High Voltage Disabling procedure will perform the following tasks:

* Identify how to disable high voltage.

* Identify how to test for the presence of high voltage.

* Identify condition under which high voltage is always present and personal protection equipment (PPE) and proper procedures

must be followed.

Failure to follow the procedures exactly as written may result in serious injury or death.

4. Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the HVIC return circuit terminal 1 and the HVIC Source circuit terminal 23.

5. Observe the BECM HVIC Source Current and HVIC Return Current parameters with the scan tool.

锟斤拷If both HVIC Source Current and HVIC Return Current parameters indicate current between 5-18 mA, replace the PIM.

锟斤拷If only the HVIC Source Current parameter indicates current between 5-18 mA test the HVIC Return circuit for a short to ground

between PIM connector X1 and X350.
